The London Cycling Campaign (LCC) is the largest urban cycling organization in the world. Founded in 1978, LCC’s mission is to make London a world-class cycling city. It seeks to increase cycling in Greater London for the benefit of individuals, local communities and the wider environment by promoting cycling, improving conditions for cycling and raising the profile of cycling. LCC collaborates with a wide range of organizations including other cycling, sustainable transport and environmental groups. The organization works closely with London’s urban transport agency — Transport for London — which is responsible for implementing London’s congestion pricing plan and a $1 billion plan for bicycle and pedestrian investments.

The City of Seattle aims to be the best and safest city in the U.S. for bicycling. Expanding the city's bicycle network is one of the key ways the city is helping to meet the Kyoto Protocol goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The Seattle Cycling Master Plan calls for developing 452 miles of marked or separated bike routes over the next 10 years. Seattle currently has about 67 miles of marked or separated routes. The plan was based on 2,450 public comments and survey responses collected over 18 months.
